SIRAI / COMMUNITY RESOURCES

Frequently asked questions

Plain answers about what SIRAI does, what it does not yet do, and how the website works.

Pre-launch information. SIRAI is not a registered NGO and does not accept donations.

What is SIRAI?

SIRAI is an independent Sudan-focused initiative developing freely accessible community planning resources. It remains in pre-launch testing.

Is SIRAI a registered NGO?

No. SIRAI is not currently a registered NGO and does not solicit donations.

Are these real SIRAI field projects?

No. The examples on the website are clearly fictional. The founder’s earlier community activities predate SIRAI and are not SIRAI project outcomes.

Are the tools free?

Yes. WaterShare, ProjectStarter and TaqaWise are free to access and do not require an account.

Does SIRAI receive my plans?

The planning tools run in your browser and do not send your drafts or calculations to SIRAI. If you submit feedback, the contents are transmitted through Formspree for review.

Can I use the website without internet?

Open each tool online first. Cached pages and scripts may then work offline on the same browser. Remote photos and feedback submission require internet, and you should test offline access on your device.

Can I use the estimates to make safety-critical decisions?

No. Verify water availability and safety locally, obtain community consent for projects, and seek qualified electrical advice before installing energy equipment.

How can I contribute?

You can test a tool, flag an unclear translation, or submit a specific suggestion through the feedback form. There is no formal volunteer recruitment programme yet.
